Combatting Insecurity : Cameroon, UK Nourish Efforts

This was discussed during an audience Minister Felix Mbayu granted the British Minister for Armed Forces, Hon. James Heappey on August 24, 2023.
Working in synergy in order to address various security challenges in the Lake Chad Basin came under scrutiny at the Ministry of External Relations. This was during an audience the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu granted to the British Minister for Armed Forces, Hon. James Heappey on August 24, 2023. Accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Barry Lowen, the personalities also reviewed cooperation ties between the two countries of the Gentlemen’s Club.
Going by the statement of the British Minister for Armed Forces after the audience, it is his second visit to Cameroon and they practically held discussions on security issues. “There is so much that the United Kingdom and Cameroon share in terms of the way we approach the security challenges in this part of Africa. And it is usually important that UK and Cameroon continue to work together as that threat grows. We are proud of our long standing commitments to work with the Cameroonian armed forces in the Lake Chad Basin. We will continue to do so and continue to listen to our friends here in Yaounde so that what we are doing in this part of the world continuous to help and meet the requirements,” Hon. James Heappey stated.
The British official further stated that Cameroon and the United Kingdom have a long standing relationship in countering terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin.
