Housing, Urban Development : More Low-cost Housing Units Announced

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Célestine Ketcha Courtès has noted that some 175 housing units will be constructed as part of the project to build 10,000 low-cost housing units and related social and collective facilities with PIZZAROTTI in 2024. She made the revelation on December 4, 2023 as she presented and defended her proposed budget of FCFA 148 billion 498 million 468.652, before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly.

Amongst the other planned priorities, she noted, the construction of 1,032 lighting points and 16,200m2 of landscaping while making the spaces considered attractive, through the landscaping of intersections and urban squares, the construction of 2.1km of drains in Maroua, and 7.2km in Douala under the Inclusive and Resilient Cities Development Project, and the development works on the Yaounde municipal lake and the renovation of the Mingoa valley including the cleaning up and treatment of lake waters.
