How have the establishment and settlement processes been at the permanent site of the Bamenda DDR Centre in Bafut since the centre became operational in July 2023?
The occupation of the new centre on the 14th July 2023 was the outcome of a long physical, material and psychological preparation. The process was fraught with difficulties principally orchestrated by spoilers or people who benefit from the present violence and social disorder. However, the ex-associates are comfortably settled in the centre as they don't only have their basic needs but are enjoying the ultra modern structures President of the Republic H.E. Paul Biya has provided for them.

How are the ambiance and life like in the Centre?
 The ambiance in the centre has picked up steam as a good number of ex-associates have engaged themselves in petty business ventures as well as farming. They are living like one big family and they are more conscious of how to maintain the infrastructure of the center.

What are the ongoing activities in the Centre aimed at facilitating the reintegration of ex-fighters in society?
We have all along been training these young people in: tailoring, hair dressing, livestock breeding, farming, computer literacy, basic education etc. We have also intensified psycho - social and psycho- spiritual counseling. Generally, they're very happy in the center.
