The North West Regional Assembly and the University of Bamenda are now bound by a Memorandum of Understanding that will enable them foster local development.
Since, January 18, 2024, the North West Regional Assembly and the University of Bamenda are bound by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will enable the two institutions work in a win-win situation to accelerate growth and development in the region. The President of the Regional Assembly, Professor Fru Angwafo III and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bamenda Professor Theresa Nkuo Akenji signed the Memorandum of Understanding in a ceremony in the Auditorium of the Regional Assembly.
Speaking after penning the partnership agreement, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bamenda referring to the Regional Assembly as the catalyst for projects in the region said, “We are looking at the MOU that addresses not only learners but also the staff as they comprise the human resource of the University of Bamenda.” Further stating that the partnership is a win-win platform for both the Regional Assembly and the University, she specified that, “The University of Bamenda has the human resource and manpower, ideas, research results and drive for effective development.” With the MOU, Professor Nkuo Akenji said, the Regional Assembly will facilitate partnerships with institutions where the university students and researchers do internships, practical work and research. The Vice Chancellor also added that, “We are going to form a stronger force to be able to write competitive projects that will win grants not only from the State but internationally.”
