West Region : City Council Adopts 2024 Budget

The Bafoussam City Council has budgeted the sum of FCFA four billion for the 2024, financial year. This amount shows an increase of FCFA 500 million, representing 6.9 per cent in relative terms, as compared to the 2023 budget that stood slightly above FCFA 3.5 billion.  This was disclosed by the Bafoussam City Mayor, Tafam Roger, during the council’s ordinary session that held from Februry21-22, 2024, and was accompanied by the commemorative celebration of the council executive four years at the helm of the institution. 
In a statistical presentation of the draft budget to the Councillors and administration during the two-day deliberations, the Secretary General of the Bafoussam City Council, Goumpo Christelle, said the increase in the budget was necessitated by the execution of important development projects to improve the living conditions of citizens in the city. She said despite this situation, total satisfaction indicated that investment budget exceeded the recurrent expenditure, giving room for infrastructure projects to be tackled in the city.
