Presidential Reconstruction Plan NW/SW : Nine Fako Health Centres Receive Equipment

Japan, UNDP and Cameroon are in coalition to rehabilitate destroyed infrastructure in the North West and South West Regions.

The governments of Cameroon, Japan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have donated equipment to nine Health Centres in Fako Division that suffered destruction during the ongoing socio-political crisis in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.
The equipment is part of the FCFA 1,5 billion (USD 2.750998) jointly agreed to relieve the crisis-stricken regions to rebuild essential infrastructure and revive public services particularly in the health sector. On 26 April, 2024, nine health centres of Fako Division benefitted equipment in Buea to include vacuum aspirators, examination lamps, ultrasound machines, 140 hospital beds, 160 bedside cupboards, and 24 ward screens.
Martin Hart-Hansen who is Deputy Resident Representative/Officer in charge of UNDP Cameroon and partners handed the equipment at the Buea Mountain Hotel premises last week in the presence of Wouslou Jacques who is Inspector General of Services and represented the South West Governor.
