Islamic Summit Conference : Cameroon Participates In Deliberations

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella represented the Head of State during discussions which took place on May 4-5, 2024 in Banjul, The Gambia.
Cameroon participated at the 15th session of the Islamic Summit Conference that took place in Banjul, The Gambia on May 4-5, 2024, under the theme; “Enhancing unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development.” External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella personally represented the President of the Republic during the two-day deliberations and was the leader of the Cameroonian delegation.
The opening plenary was presided at by President Adama Barrow and deliberations focused on strengthening unity in collectively addressing the pressing challenges facing nations especially on the environment, expanding cooperation and solidarity among member countries in the pursuit of shared goals as enshrined in the African Charter, revitalising small and medium-sized enterprises and promoting the African culture. In attendance were Presidents, Kings, Sultans, Prime Ministers, Rulers, and other world leaders from the fifty-seven member countries of the OIC and beyond. The OIC leaders discussed topics of global challenges, promoting peace, justice and sustainable development.
External Relations Minister who took to the rostrum during panel discussions, shared Cameroon’s view on strengthening cooperation with member States.
