First Lady’s Humanitarian Actions : Magazine Captures 30-Year Service

The 64-page publication of the Guardian Post presents readers with a rich documentation of Madam Chantal Biya’s activities towards humanity.

A completion of the humanitarian and social services offered by the First Lady, Chantal Biya to Cameroonians for the past three decades has been published by the Guardian Post. The magazine which is now available on newsstands and online sales platforms can be purchased at FCFA 2,000. It contains text and picture illustrations on the activities of the First Lady in the fight against poverty, diseases, misery, women and community empowerment, promotion of education, sports, culture, fashion and her standing as a global humanitarian heroine. To better illustrate a point, the cover page of the publication has a picture of Madam Chantal Biya carrying a baby during one of her visits to the Yaounde Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproductive Teaching Hospital (CHRACERH) to commune with mothers and babies at Christmas. 
Indeed as the magazine headlines, “Chantal Biya: 30 years of service to humanity,” the first 33 pages of the document is used to justify the phrase as readers are taken memory lane of the actions of the passionate and heart-warming lady since 1994. Achievements over the years as Founder of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), and having established institutions such as CHRACERH, the Chantal Biya Foundation, the Chantal Biya International Reference Centre and the African Synergy Against AIDS and Suffering, are all highlighted in the magazine with picture illustrations. A read through makes one better understand the First Lady’s actions in promoting education especially amongst young girls, enhancing the empowerment of rural women, combatting HIV/AIDS and suffering, and improving health care.
