Bafoussam : City Council, Diaspora Discuss Dev’t Policies

This was during a one-day business forum that held on August 7, 2024, grouping development partners, donors, Cameroon diaspora and local authorities.

The Senior Divisional Officer for Mifi in the West Region, Christophe Fofie Mbouedia, says diaspora working with local authorities will facilitate changes that accelerate sustained economic growth and promote sustainable development.  He said development cooperation between the Bafoussam City Council and the Cameroonian diaspora to support development policies, business and trade-related areas will strengthen socio-economic integration for an upward economic of scale. 
Chritophe Fofie Mbouedia was speaking in Bafoussam on August 7,2024, while chairing a one-day business forum, organised by the Bafoussam City Council. It aimed at mobilizing partnership with Cameroonians in the diaspora in contributing its own quota to development back in Cameroon. The Senior Divisional Officer said it was exceedingly important that local authorities and diaspora, as well as development partners demonstrate their ability and willingness to move forward together in the same objective that will put in place an efficient mechanism for achieving economic growth and providing better services for the population.
For his part, the City Mayor, Roger Tafam, expressed his gratitude that the business forum ended on an optimistic note with the adoption of resolutions that will provide a framework for gradual integration of sustainable development towards an equitable and stable economy in the near future.  He said emphasis will be placed on partnership between development partners, donors and the Cameroonian diaspora, wi...
