Africa Handball Clubs Championship : Cameroonian Teams In Morocco

FAP, FANZ and Friendship handball clubs left the country on October 7, 2024 where they will take part in the competition that kicks off tomorrow, October 10.

The 45th edition of the Africa Handball Clubs Championship will kick off on October 10, 2024 in Laayoune, Morocco. Cameroon will be represented in the competition by four clubs. They are FAP Handball Club, FANZ Handball Club (women) and FAP Handball Club, Friendship Handball Club (men). Ahead of the competition, the Cameroonian flagbearers rounded off their preparations in Yaounde last weekend. 
As part of the preparations, FAP beat FANZ 25-20 in a friendly tournament on October 3, 2024 at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex. Earlier, FAP beat FANZ 27-22 on October 1, 2024. Other matches were played in the men’s category at the Presidential Guard Stadium in Obili. Michelle Essam, team captain of FAP, said the team is ready for the competition. She said the friendship tournament enabled the team to correct their errors and be ready for the task ahead. The captain of Friendship Handball, Bissouking Cédric said the friendly matches helped the players to make up for weaknesses. He said Friendship Cameroon will give their best to bring back glory.  The President of Friendship, Patrick Dissembi said it is the first time the team is going for the African championship and that the team is going there to learn.
