Cameroon-Italy : Improving Migration, Scientific Cooperation

This was the focus of discussions between Minister Felix Mbayu and the Ambassador Flippo Scammacca Del Murgo yesterday October 10, 2024.

The Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relation in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, yesterday received in audience the Italian Ambassador to Cameroon, Flippo Scammacca Del Murgo, during which the two personalities exchanged ideas on enhancing bilateral relations in the migration and scientific domains. This is in accordance with existing agreements in the aforementioned sectors.
Speaking to reporters after the audience, the Italian diplomat said it was a very fruitful discussion with the Minister on a certain number of topics between the two countries, having to do with important issues like an agreement on migration and mobility. The Ambassador said the idea is to enable Cameroonians gain professional skills in Italy and after some years of work, return to Cameroon and become an impact to the economy. “It would be mutually beneficial for the two countries,” he stated. 
Flippo Scammacca Del Murgo added that they also examined aspects of cultural and scientific cooperation, not only in the educational domain. He further explained that there is an educational cooperation, at the level of Universities which was signed some years back between Cameroon and Italy, and currently warrants a ratification. The said agreement would have to be brought to Parliament for scrutiny before its modification.
