Reconstructing Crisis-affected Regions : UNDP Hails Cameroon's Strides

The appreciation was made by the institution's Director of the Regional Service Centre, Matthias Naab, received by the Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday October 15, 2024.
Efforts made by Cameroon within the context of the implementation of the Presidential Plan for the North West and South West Regions have been saluted by the visiting Director of the Regional Service Centre of the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, Matthias Naab. This was during an audience granted by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, to the senior UN official on October 15, 2024. Accompanied by the Resident Representative a.i of the UNDP, Aissata DE, who has come to the end of her diplomatic assignment in Cameroon, the personalities also discussed resource mobilisation for the appropriate implementation of the programme to the benefit of the population.
The UN official who served in Cameroon as UN Resident Coordinator before taking up a senior role in the same institution at the regional level in Addis Ababa noted that they also came to express gratitude to the Head of Government for the collaboration they receive as a strategic partner of Cameroon in the implementation process. “You know UNDP is not only a strategic partner for the government, but we wanted to also come back and express our appreciation to the Prime Minister for all that he does for the support of the UN system and in particular UNDP. You know that the UNDP is the implementing partner for the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions,” the Regional Director stated, adding that it is in line with that programme that they are in Cameroon.
