Bilingualism, Multiculturalism : Commission Evaluates Path Covered In 2024

The President, Peter Mafany Musonge chaired the second biannual session of the institution on December 20, 2024.

As the year draws to an end, the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism has held its second biannual session for the 2024 financial year, aimed at evaluating the level of implementation of the action plan of the institution. The session was chaired by the President of the Commission, Peter Mafany Musonge, on December 20, 2024. 
According to the President of the Commission, the rate of realisation of the action plan is above 95 per cent, a score he notes is very good. “As usual, part of the achievement was recorded during the field work by members of the Commission through visits to major international airports in Yaounde, Douala and Garoua, the Autonomous Seaports of Douala, Kribi and Limbe Ports Authority, as well as in Cameroon’s diplomatic missions in Riyadh, Ottawa, Beijing and Abidjan,” Peter Mafany Musonge stated. He added that another significant activity carried out by the Commission within the framework of its mission, was the organisation of the scientific colloquium which held from September 26-28, 2024 at the Yaounde Conference Centre on the theme; “Intercommunity conflicts and the promotion of living together in Cameroon.” The findings as well as the recommendations made during the various activities organised in the course of the year, the President of the Commission added, were forwarded to the hierarchy and will go a long way in the definition and drafting of policy to improve and encourage efforts of social cohesion and living togethe...
