South West : 1,592 Electors Vote In Regional Polls

The voting exercise in all the six administrative Divisional Headquarters of the region unfolded hitch-free.

The 2025 Regional Election has unfolded in total tranquillity in the entire South West Region. A total of 1,592 voters registered at Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) in the South West Region, went to the polls in 15 polling stations spread across the six divisional headquarters. The electoral college, consisting of 809 municipal councillors and 783 traditional rulers were expected at the polls between 8am to 6pm to vote members of the South West Regional Assembly (Divisional Representatives and House of Chiefs). 
For the Divisional Representatives, the CPDM party ran unchallenged in all the Divisions of the South West Region given that all the 31 municipal councils in the region and managed by the ruling party.
However, fierce competition for the election of traditional rulers into the House of Chiefs was only in Fako Division where three lists were presented. 
In Kupe Muanenguba, Meme, Lebialem, Ndian and Manyu Divisions, there was only a single list of traditional rulers in each of the Division.
