Minister Pauline Irene Nguene requested a budgetary allocation of FCFA 26 billion 582 million for the implementation of main programmes in 2026.
As part of continuous efforts to establishing and enhancing mechanisms to coordinate social protection programmes for the vulnerable population, the Minister of Social Affairs Pauline Irene Nguene was before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly last Friday, soliciting a draft budget of FCFA 26 billion 582 million for 2026. The amount requested, she said, will be used for the implementation of three main programmes.
On child protection, the Minister said the resources of the Ministry will be used in the development and consolidation of institutions safeguarding children in distress, as well as social rehabilitation structures for children in difficult situations, while ensuring the sustainability and improvement of existing systems. In addition, special child protection measures will be strengthened, including care delivery to children affected by the security crisis in the North West, South West and Far North Regions, refugee children in the East Region and children who are victims of trafficking.
