Koutaba Airport: Advocacy For Apt Functionality

Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday July 9, 2026 received a delegation of elected officials from the Noun Division of the West Region.

A delegation of elected officials from the Noun Division of the West Region was at the Star Buil­ ding yesterday July 9, 2026 to advocate for the renova­ tion and putting into apt use the Koutaba Airport of the locality. Led by the Mayor of Foumban, Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya and composed mainly of legislators of the Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU) party, they were re­ ceived by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute. Speaking to the press shortly after the working session with the Head of Govern­ ment, Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoy said their meeting was to advocate for the opening of the airport for various rea­ sons. The airport, it should be noted, is a secondary and military airfield located near the city of Foumban and ma­ naged by the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority. It features a 2,100-meter asphalt run­ way and the elected officials of the Division hope for a re­ furbishment so that commer­ cial flights within the country can be more regular therein. In her statement, Mrs Ndam Njoya said they also came to make known their availability and determination to colla­ borate with authorities for the reopening of the airport, citing numerous advantages.
