Official Visit of Canterbury Archbishop: Logistics, Security, Protocol Guaranteed

T he Archbishop of Canterbury and Head of the Anglican Community, the Right Ho­ nourable Sarah Mullaly is ex­ pected in Cameroon for an official visit from 31 July to 04 August 2026. Ahead of the religious stopover which begins in a week, authorities are fine-tuning preparations with the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella having chaired a working ses­ sion on July 20, 2026 with officials of the British High Commission in Yaounde. The British delegation was led by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i, Simon Tooth. Discussion focused on practical mo­ dalities related to the stay of the Head of State's very esteemed host and particular attention was on lo­ gistics, security around the august guest and general protocol services. This especially as she is expected to meet several personalities and commun with the population in prayers. As the first woman to lead the global Anglican Communion in its 1,400- year history, her five-day stay in Ca­ meroon, authorities of the Ministry of External Relations explain, that the aim of the visit is to deepen in­ terreligious dialogue, promote peace, reconciliation, and strengthen diplo­ matic ties within the Commonwealth, amongst other issues.
