North West: CPDM Targets Landslide Victory For Upcoming Elections

T he Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) is bracing up to consolidate its political pro­ wess in the North West Region by having landslide victory in the upcoming legislative and municipal elections. To achieve the objective, the party’s of­ ficials had a regional seminar in Bamenda on August 21, 2026 on the theme. “Securing a CPDM landslide victory in the upcoming parliamentary and municipal elections.” The CPDM Central Committee Re­ gional Permanent Delegation Head of the North West, for­ mer Prime Minister Philemon Yang, presided at the seminar at the Bamenda Congress Hall. Addressing party officials, he said the seminar that came on the heels of that the na­ tional level was at the ins­ tructions of the Secretary Ge­ neral of the CPDM Central Committee with the aim to step up preparations for the upcoming elections. He said the CPDM was a “reigning champion in our political sys­ tem, and stressed that the seminar was out to ensure that our opponents do not frighten us. There is nothing to fear.” Focusing on ways to ensure that the CPDM goes from suc­ cess to success by winning landslide victory in the elec­ tions, Philemon Yang said our party must remain disciplined. He told party officials and lea­ ders to pay no attention to nasty rumors, stating that their ideas must be based on social analysis and judgment.
