Municipal Police: Digital Innovation To Ease Identification

The National School of Local Adminis­ tration (NASLA) has reinforced the se­ curity compartment of 11 municipalities with 116 municipal police agents. On September 3, 2026, it was the fourth time it graduated the municipal police from the Mutengene Police Training and Application Centre. The beneficiary councils are Kribi City Council, Bafoussam City Council, Bafoussam III Council, Foum­ ban Council, and Douala III Council among others. During the training of the fourth batch of municipal police agents, NASLA took steps to distinguish its trained municipal police from those who are not trained. The 116 graduates of the fourth batch were given badges. These badges have serial numbers attributed to the holders with the information anchored online. With a phone scan, citizens can identify the holder by name and his or her council among other information. NASLA also developed another application for mayors. They will use it to monitor the activities of all the municipal police per­ sonnel. Unveiling the innovations to the public, the Director General of NASLA, Tanyitiku Enohachuo Bayee, called on the trainees to continue with the culture of excel­ lence implanted in them in NASLA.
