F aced with the upsurge of the dangers of information and communication technologies, Elections Cameroon, has opted for several measures to protect itself from the lurking dangers. To this ef­ fect, the elections management body constantly organises capacity-buil­ ding and training sessions focused on information and communication technologies (ICTs), digital tools, and artificial intelligence (AI) to modernise the country's electoral processes. The objective is to make sure the official website or social media plat­ forms of the institution are not hacked or face the threats of cyber­ security. The information therein is protected to ensure Cameroonian home and abroad, as well as inter­ national community have accurate information about the electoral pro­ cess. Experts in the field are constantly brought in to update the skills and capacities of staff in the domain. Ahead of major electoral operations, ELECAM routinely trains its technical personnel and field agents on ope­ rating updated mobile biometric kits and modern data-capture technology designed to streamline voter regis­ tration in both urban centers and remote rural areas.
