Civilian March Past: Youths Showcase Talents, Patriotism

This was during the 54th National Day celebrated in Yaounde yesterday.
The Yaounde 20th May Boulevard was a place par excellence for thousands of pupils and students to showcase their unconditional attachment to the Nation as they march past yesterday under the theme, “A People United In Their Diversity For A Peaceful, Stable And Prosperous Cameroon”. Elegantly dressed in their various schools’ outfit, they chanted patriotic songs and carried banners reiterating their continuous commitment to the country's ideologies. The first to set the pace were pupils from Mballa 11 Primary School. Accompanied by their cheerleaders and waving the green, red and yellow flag, the future leaders re-iterated the need for national cohesion, as they march past under the sub-team theme, “Youth Committed To Unity”. In 14 squares of 81 marchers each, with seven each from the public and private schools, divided into seven blocks of two from each Sub-divisions, the pupils under the supervision 16 of MINJEC staff, specialists and coordinators of group movements, and 14 teacher-guide from the schools marching, the youth denounced all sorts of ills by the social media from scamming to kidnapping. On the heels the Primary, were Secondary school students. In a blend of culture from the nook and crannies of Cameroon, they sent many memory-lane thanks to their wellcoordinated choreography. Under the sub-theme; “Peace and Security”, they march-past to the rhythm of the patriotic song; “National Day, 20 May”, with the squares move at a “charged pace”. They were followed by the teacher training schools that march-past with messages encouraging young people to innovate and create, with a view to greater youth participation in their country’s development.
