11 février: Youths Exhibit Know-How

A trade-fair to show evidence of their creativity is taking place in Yaounde.

Young people in Cameroon have talents! This statement best describes the scenario at the Yaounde Sports Complex yesterday February 7, 2017 as different groups of youths in the country have gathered to show off their creative skills and initiatives which have produced outstanding results. The exhibition is taking place ahead of activities to mark the 51st edition of the National Youth Day under the theme: “Youth and the Challenges of Building an Exemplary, Indivisible, Strong and Emergent Nation”.
Are you a young Cameroonian hoping to be a professional animator in the future? Or do you want to be better informed on a successful professional integration or how to establish your entrepreneurial skills? The current platform for youths to showcase their initiative and creativity is the best avenue. At the Yaounde Sports Complex, they are presenting to the public their talents in all domains that can be promoted to contribute to an emergent Cameroon by 2035.
Interesting to see at the exhibition ground is tea and soap made from local products by Bio-chemistry students of the Faculty of Science from the University of Yaounde I. A student from the Bio-chemistry Department of the University of Yaounde I, Pouemegne Biegaing Vanina Pascale explained that because most young people today are involved in skin bleaching and the use of other products which could be toxic to lose weight, they have joined their initiatives to that of cosmetic enterprise to produce an exfoliating and lighting soap which is composed of local products: Shea and cocoa butter.  Students of same departments have also used Shea and cocoa butter to produce tea meant to lose weight and relax the body. It is also worthy to note that young people also displayed hair products and body lotions made from local products.

Parlementaire jeune

« Au fur et à mesure que les jours passent, on constate que les jeunes posent de plus en plus des actes d’incivisme. Un jeune formé correctement au civisme et à la citoyenneté, ne poserait pas de tels actes. Le civisme est important dans la vie de chaque jeune. Concernant la pratique de l’agriculture, avec les nouvelles technologies, il est important pour la jeunesse de se former dans les activités agropastorales. Ce qui nous permet de découvrir les opportunités que l’Etat met à la disposition des jeunes. »
