Traditional and social media are being used by political leaders to get their messages across.

Getting ideas and messages across to the population on the actions and prospects of a political party is paramount to its leaders. In reality, every political party uses traditional and social media to make sure its political propaganda gets the attention of the maximum number of audience. From televised political debates to special columns in newspapers and publications on social media platforms, politicians spare no effort in using the opportunity to market their ideas and programmes. The choice of a channel of communication varies from one political leader to another and desired outcomes influence media choice too. Whatever the case maybe, communication channels are used in political marketing to get more party sympathisers and keep members informed. Simply put, political marketing is a promotion process of political communication, where political candidates share the ideas and promote themselves for voters.
With the broadcast media, both the State-owned and private television channels are used to pass across their respective message. Political debate programmes of an hour long or more can be viewed on TV especially during weekends. The politician uses the opportunity to brand the party in several ways, with each official presenting reasons why his/her political party is best. Reading those national newspapers, one observes that political leaders have politically-oriented write-ups or interviews published, where they give their opinions in particular columns.
