China : Young African Media Professionals Sharpen Skills

This is during a three-week training seminar at the Beijing Dahongmen International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The China Radio and Television Corporation for International Techno-Economic Cooperation (CRTV) upbeat to see a more improved media landscape, is currently organizing a training dubbed, “Seminar on Young Media Professionals for African Countries”. Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the seminar to run for three weeks officially kicked off on September 6, 2023 at the Beijing Dahongmen International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The training brings together some 36 participants from 11 African countries including, Cameroon, Ghana, South Sudan, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, just to mention but a few.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Chang Jin, Second-Grade Counsel of the International Cooperation Department of the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) of the People’s Republic of China stated that, “In the current-day world, media has a very important role to play in creating common understanding, maintaining peace and promoting joint development.” He furthered that, “NRTA sticks to the principle of equality, cooperation and mutual benefit in its relations with all partners in the world”. The official hopes that during the seminar, “all participants can learn something about China’s experience in its radio, television and online audio-video industry”.
