FENASSCO League “A” : Centre Regional Governor Reiterates Fair-play

The Centre Region is gearing up for the FENASSCO League “A” Games next month in Limbe, with a strong emphasis on sportsmanship. Naseri Paul Bea, Governor of the Centre Region, presided over the opening ceremony of the regional finals held on March 22, 2024, at the GP Sports Complex in Yaounde. Speaking to the press, Governor Bea stressed the importance of fair-play, urging athletes to see themselves as competitors, not enemies. "Fair-play has to be the watchword," Governor Bea remarked. “The athletes have to look at themselves as competitors not as enemies, as friends not as adversaries." He emphasized that a spirit of sportsmanship will make it easier for athletes to accept the results, win or lose.
The ceremony featured a symbolic lighting of the Olympic flame by a visually impaired athlete, highlighting the inclusive nature of the games and the opportunity it provides for all students to participate. The student representative also pledged to represent the region with honor and strive for victory in sportsmanship during the solemn swearing in ritual.
