2024 Cameroon Cycling Tour : Kamzong Abossolo Wins Again

The cyclist from the SNH Velo Club finished the 120km race along the Bafoussam-Dschang-Nkongsamba highway in 2h54’12 yesterday June 5, 2024.


The fifth lap of the 20th edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon took place yesterday June 5, 2024 along the Bafoussam-Dschang-Nkongsamba highway over a distance of 119.5km. The kick-off was at 10:00 a.m. at the Bafoussam ceremonial ground in the presence of the Governor of the West Region, Awa Fonka Augustine before the race official started some two kilometers from the Bafoussam ceremonial ground. A total of 44 athletes were on the start list. The cyclists had the daunting task of descending the 12km ‘Falaise de Dschang’. The Cameroonian cyclists fought hard to be at the front of the race from time to time. They were riding at a speed of 41km/ph. Two cyclists from the SNH Velo Club; Kouere Nounawe Rodrigue and Clovis Kamzong Abossolo were on the lead some 100m from the finish line with 30” from the rest of the group.
At the end of the race, Kamzong Abossolo was the first in 2h54’12. He was followed by Kuere Nounawe Rodrigue and Cissé Issiaka from Côte d’Ivoire. It was the second time Clovis Kamzong Abossolo is winning a lap in this competition. He won the first lap in Maroua on May 31, 2024. With yesterday’s result, Kamzong Abossolo is still keeping the yellow jersey. He also received a cash prize of FCFA 1 million from the Head of State Paul Biya following his victory.
