Border Security : Guinea Bissau, Senegal Concert

This was during a workshop that brought together top ranking civil and military officials in Bissau.
Guinea-Bissau and Senegalese authorities have met in Bissau to seek ways of achieving concerted management of the common border. The meeting that took place on Saturday, October 23, 2021 enabled both countries to identify possible avenues for reflection and concrete actions to be taken in order to put an end to organized crime along the common border.
To brainstorm on the different proposals put on the table by both sides, the Senegalese Army Chief of Staff, General Cheick Wade, also travelled to Bissau to refine the strategy aimed at dislodging the MFDC separatists from their bases. Talking to New.In-24 correspondence in Bissau, the Senegalese Army Chief of Staff, General Cheick Wade, said, « All cross-border issues have been addressed, the two armies are in perfect harmony. »
Holding under the theme, “security and development along the common border.” The management of the common border, where organized crime, cattle theft and land issues were among other items on the agenda of the workshop that held between Senegalese and Guinea Bissau authorities who have witnessed a major hike in crime wave.
