2022 Commonwealth Games : Eseme Qualifies For 200m Semi-finals

The Cameroonian athlete moved to this phase of the ongoing competition in Birmingham after winning his heat with a timing of 20.44s yesterday August 4, 2022.

After missing out on a medal in the final of the 100m in the evening of Wednesday August 3, 2022, Emmanuel Eseme has qualified for the semi-finals of the 200m in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. He made it to this stage of the competition after emerging first in his heat with a timing of 20.44s yesterday, August 4, 2022 at the Alexender stadium. The athlete who is one of Cameroon’s fastest runners got into the track knowing that it was his last chance to stay in Birmingham, thus gave in his best. The flagbearer of Team Cameroon hopes to continue in the same light with the aim of bringing home at least one of the precious medals.
Contrary to Eseme, Raphael Ngaguele will not continue the race. After being disqualified in his first attempt in the 100m, he succeeded to take-off rightly and took part in the 200m yesterday but was not fast enough to qualify for the next round. In the women’s category, Linda Angounou was equally eliminated in Round 1 of the women’s 200m. At press time yesterday, she was bracing up to better her performance in the 400m hurdles.
