Qatar 2022 : Breakdown Of Prize Money Confirmed

The sum of 440 million dollars (FCFA 280 billion) will be distributed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by Qatar.

The world football governing body, FIFA, has made public a schedule of its allocation for the qualified countries as well as the rewards according to the performances of each one at the World Cup. According to the programme, each qualified country can directly have about FCFA 5 billion while the winner will have a little more than FCFA 23 billion. FIFA announced that each of the 32 nations will receive 1.5 million dollars (FCFA 9 billion) before the tournament to cover preparatory expenses. All participating nations in the FIFA 2022 World Cup will receive 9 million US Dollars at least as group stage prize money. Any nation that progresses to the round of 16 will receive additional 4 million dollars making a total of 13 million dollars. 
For the last four rewards, the semi-finals nations will have their prize money determined by where they finish. The third place finished will receive an additional 10 million dollars to the already received 17 million dollars making a total of 27 million dollars (FCFA 17 billion) . Fourth place finished will receive an additional 8 million dollars to the already received 17 million dollars (FCFA 10 billion) to make a total of 25 million dollars. The runner up or second placed finish will receive an additional 13 million dollars to the already received 17 million making a total of 30 million dollars (FCFA 19 billion).
