2024 Paris Olympic Games : Medal Quest Begins Today

The 10,500 athletes will this Wednesday July 24, 2024 rumble off competition in some 32 sports disciplines across 329 events ahead of the official opening ceremony Friday with several world leaders announced.

Speculations as to who bags the first medal in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games when effective competition begins today July 24, 2024 in Paris, France and which country emerges overall winner when curtains drop on August 11, 2024 are rife. After four years of preparations from the time the last edition held in Berlin, Germany, the world’s best athletes are once again gathered, this time around in Paris, France, to thrill the world with their prowess in the multi-sport event, each hoping to outsmart the other in the huge medal quest.
Collective sports is on the menu for the competition’s kicker with host, France, programmed to take on the United States of America in the Men’s Rugby Seven tournament and the same countries will equally face each other in Men’s Football. Team Cameroon that comprises six athletes has been here for over a week now, training hard and getting used to the environment. Even though the number of Cameroon’s flagbearers in the prestigious global competition this year has reduced, compared to the last editions, Sprinter Emmanuel Eseme and others are hoping to hit the skies. Harvesting more than one medal in a single edition of the competition is certainly a daunting but surmountable challenge for team Cameroon here.
The Games Village officially opened its doors to welcome qualified athletes last July 18 and Cameroon’s representatives who had been training in Ermont, a neighbouring city, joined their peers two days later. They have since been devising winning strategies, bearing in mind that the Olympics are not for strugglers. They therefore have to be up to the task to shine. 
World leaders invited for the opening ceremony of the Games on Friday July 26, 2024 will take part in a reception offered by French President, Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, the official residence of the President of the French Republic  in Paris. The State House reception that precedes the official opening ceremony will be a foretaste of the global fraternity expected to be exhibited throughout the tournament and in all competition sites. 
It is said here that Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be unique in several perspectives and the opening ceremony will join the most memorable moments in Olympics. For the first time in the history of the Summer Olympic Games, the opening ceremony will not take place in a stadium. Paris 2024 ...
