Netherlands : Shaping Up For Qatar

After failing to qualify for the 2018 edition, the country that is currently in form is returning to the 2022 World Cup with the objective of bagging its first trophy.

The Senior Netherlands football team known as the Oranje will be looking at launching yet another challenge at the World Cup when clashes kick-off in Qatar 2022 late next month. Despite missing out on the 2018 tournament, their recent record is impressive. They have qualified for the Nations League finals topping Group 4 with 16 points. They beat Poland (2-0) and Germany 1-0 in their last two Nations League group games this September. These are matches that all greatly helped the team to analyse its strengths and weakness ahead of the global showpiece which kicks off on November 20, 2022. The performance of Netherlands in the Nations League makes them one of the most in-form European sides heading into the World Cup. 
Three times, they have finished runners-up of the global showpiece, twice during the 1970s (1974 and 1978) and again in 2010 when they lost 1-0 to Spain. The team will thus be coming into this year’s edition to better this performance. Netherlands can count on Lead Trainer Van Gaal that is at his third spell with the team.
