Chad –Cameroon : Consultations For Greater Cooperation


President Paul Biya of Cameroon on August 22, 2022 had discussions with the Chadian Minister of Finance and Budget, Tahir Hamid Nguilin. This was part of permanent consultations between the officials of the neighbouring, friendly and brotherly countries to enhance the growing cooperation ties between them. The cooperation ties between the two countries are guided by the Cameroon-Chad Mixed Commission.
Cameroon and Chad, besides being neighbours and friends, are all members of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central African States (CEMAC) and the leaders of the two countries have been working over the years to ensure sub-regional integration. These are countries that are linked by the war against the Islamic Sect Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin area. As such, soldiers of both countries are united under the banner of the Multinational Joint Task Force to eradicate the terrorist sect. In the same connection, officials of both countries are also working in together with financial and humanitarian partners to ensure stability and return to normalcy in the area.
